Tus Spa boasts two water sources, each quite different from the other.
One is a typical mountain spring which supplies the hotel with drinking water for the rooms, bathrooms, outside pool, gardens, kitchen, café, and so on.
The other is the medicinal mineral water spring. This water is only used in the facilities in the baths. Clients may drink directly from the spring or take the water in the restaurant.
The water at Tus is considered medicinal mineral water, and complies with the regulations governing drinking water established by the World Health Organization (WHO). It contains dry residues of 1.228 mg of minerals per litre. The water is classified as: chlorinated, acratothermal, warm, and bicarbonated, containing sodium magnesium, and with good percentages of sulphate ions.
The use of mineral waters both to prevent and cure conditions has been one of the most frequently used remedies since time immemorial, and it is still relevant today. Used correctly, these waters provide a preventative, healing, and rehabilitative treatment for many different illnesses.
Spa treatments are subject to many different factors: the non-specific actions derived from the physical properties of the water, and the specific benefits that come from its composition. As important as these characteristics are factors such as the spa’s climate, surroundings, and atmosphere. These provide the spa treatment with certain qualities difficult to find in other places, which contribute to the physical and mental wellbeing of the bather.
