The complex is located within a mountainous zone with picturesque valleys filled with lush vegetation, abundant springs and clean flowing streams.
It is surrounded by the Natural Park of Calares del Mundo y de la Sima, as well as peaks such as Calar del Mundo (1.631 m.), Puntal de la Encomienda (1.502 m.), Pico Argel (1.694 m.), Puntal de la Cruz (1,516 m.), Molata del Imperio (1.598 m.), and Pico de las Mentiras (1.897 m.).
The zone is full of slopes and inclines, especially at the mouth of the river, a narrow canyon reaching altitudes of between 900 and 1.500 m. From the area between El Vado, the municipal district of Tus, and the Spa, the terrain appears bowl-shaped: it is an ample, isolated valley reaching absolute altitudes of between 960 and 1,100 m. and relative altitudes of 60 to 180 m.
