The municipal area of Yeste covers 511,2 square kilometers, making it one of the largest areas in the province.
Yeste, where the majority of services can be found, is the most important of its population centres, while the rest of the area is made up of thirteen districts which in turn encompass the settlements commonly known in the region as aldeas (hamlets) or cortijos (country estates).
